Blog Action day: Earth chakra images

A little over a month ago, this gaia.com community began a practice of observing a daily Gaia minute or "moment" of sending love to our planet - the living system of Gaia, our mother. Since the initiation of this practice was strongly connected to September 9th - 9/9/09 - folks are encouraged to observe it at 9:09 am (or pm) - and I add for a duration of 9 minutes and 9 seconds.
During that time one night, I began to get the image of connecting to the chakras of the planet, like healers connect to the chakra energy centers of the body.
For a fuller description of the various chakras, check the chart about halfway down this page.
The basic idea is that the red or root chakra is associated with stability and creation,
the orange or sacral chakra is connected with procreation and change, the yellow with confidence and willpower, the green with love and balance, the light blue with communication and truth, the dark blue (indigo) with intuition and wisdom, and the purple chakra with connection with Divine and inspiration. Check the chart above to see which color is associated with which part of the body.
So the then came the image of connecting with the energy centers of the earth, like connecting with the energy centers of the body:
Red - the molten center from which comes life, and the change of volcanic eruptions.
Orange - the slightly cooler layers out to the fertile crust that germinates and sustains the food and resources off of which we live.
Yellow - the bountiful harvest of grains, the beauty of flowers.
Green - the colors of vegetation and the leafy canopy that sustains the air we breath
Light blue - the sky - home for birds, clouds, precipitation, conveyer of light and radio waves
Indigo - the edges of space
Purple - the greater universe and multiverse.
Each of these images is fluid - please adapt them in ways that work for your style.
With special thanks to KES, here is a graphic representation of these images:
As I've been working on this blog - I've had a sense of connecting with the different areas and sharing love like caressing a beloved's face, hugging a loved one, touching someone on the shoulder compassionately and supportively, or stroking a well-loved animal.
I've also had a sense of the interconnectedness of my own chakras, and those of the earth. And I feel like connecting with and loving ourselves more deeply is a fundamental and crucial part of doing what we need to heal our planet and deal with the multitude of environmental and social challenges currently facing all of us.
Thank you for being part of this Blog Action Day

Help

This is a very informative blog. You have explained the chakras in living color for Mother Earth: When you explained to us how this applies it inspired me to make this for you if you want it & taught me. Thanks!

Kes, that image is wonderful - *thank you*! Would it be all right if I edited the blog later today to include it?

Love your blog and how you connected the Chakras with Mother Earth - also really enjoyed your visual representation of that concept, Kathy! I will meditate upon that concept today.
Blessed Be!
Claudia
Very nice, it is a wondrous way to view and feel our connection to the planet… Well done!
I am Love, Jeff
Hi, Claudia and Jeff - thank you both :-). Those images have been gripping me since they emerged in my Gaia moment time a couple weeks ago. It's a fun blessing to share them here on this day and as part of this effort.

awesome!! :)
I am standing up, hooting and hollering with sheer joy over this blog entry - it's fantastic! THANK YOU.
Oh, Sylvia -
As a practitioner of the 9:09 Gaia Minute, I love this idea of connecting the Chakras of the Earth. As above, so below. I just never thought of applying it that way and so, I am thankful to have come upon your blog today ! So, coming up in just a couple of hours, I can apply this new insight to my practice.
Yes, “connecting with and loving ourselves more deeply is a fundamental and crucial part of doing what we need to heal … the multitude of environmental and social challenges currently facing all of us.” All of what we each are, is some part of all that Gaia, our Mother Earth, IS. So, loving Gaia and loving ourselves really asks the same perspective of us.
Congratulations
on an original,
heart-warming idea -

These are wonderfully inviting connections and correspondences. Thank you, Sylvia and KES!

Hi, Suni, Laurie, Deb and Mary - *thank you* [blush, smile]. I'm deeply glad these images resonated with you and are supporting your own connections with the planet - amazing being, isn't she?

This is love and “wholeness” and compassion…
beautiful - thank you for sharing Sylvia
Thanks for this post, Sylvia. :) Here's to Gaia!
Hi, Tai and Jodi - you're welcome :-).
love to Gaia and to each of you -
Sylvia
Sylvia, this Monday, you must have beamed these messages out, because I found myself connecting heart-to heart and third-eye to third-eye with Gaia and then each chakra as well; we do that in another group, with dolphins, and I thought the idea may be coming to me from there.
I just love the way you have described what you saw, and feel this would be a wonderful addition to a thread I've been contemplating –Gaia Minute Meditations; …okay I've started it and hope that you will post there as well.
Visualizations for Gaia Minute Meditations in One Light Many Windows group.
Hi, Meenakshi - as I'm guessing you've seen - I went ahead and linked to this blog from One Light, Many Windows. I just don't have the tech skills to recreate it there - if that's even possible.
My sense is - rather than my beaming the idea to you - that we and Gaia are connecting with each other on this level now. As our energy levels and accompanying skills intensify - and we're able to connect and communicate with our living planet in new ways - we're continuing to experience new perspectives and insights.

Divine will will help the prayer project…
Thank you Sylvia for evrything
